Sorry for only answering now unlike you who waste time, I was pretty busy these past few days with a con and life in general. But now I can properly answer you because I like answering those kinds of messages so much –especially when they are as hilarious as yours. Since I laughed so much at it, I wanna answer it as thanks for this laugh.
That first sentence alone! IT MADE MY DAY! Of course, I’m pretending to like Mako or Sou, come on guys it’s obvious! All those posts about them, all those countless hours editing, all the money spent on them, it’s obvious that I’m all pretending to like them. Look this anon who does not know me manage to find the truth! I haven’t spoken about RH for almost years but yeah of course I’m only pairing the spares ship.
No serious talk here, I’m barely shipping RH anymore. Reason why? The fandom. I can barely see/like Rin and Haru, not because of RH shippers but because of MH and SR shippers. I won’t go into details here but for real don’t expect much RH or any Rin and Haru edits, posts etc. on my tumblr anymore. So yeah I’m definitely another RH who runs a SM tumblr XD.
KA does not care about anything but money. They don’t care about ships, they care about the people who buy their goodies. So if more people buy stuff with what you see “official” ships, of course, they are going to continue with this for more money. But it does not mean it’s official. There are no official ships in Free. No one is forced to like the popular ones. If you do, you do your thing and you let others do their thing. That’s how a fandom should be but unfortunately, in this day of age, it seems to be impossible.

Every year, multiple times a year, they convince ppl to fork out thousands of dollars and….literally nothing changes. There’s no doubt in my mind they’re pocketing most of this money lol

That’s what’s so wild to me. They’ve made exactly 0 changes other than adding the ‘Exclude’ tags and that def doesn’t take 130k.
You know if any of you actually bothered to click the link it’ll take you to their budget update and break down exactly what the spend the money on, over 70% of which is spent on server expenses, monitoring tools and system licences.
They also spent a good amount of the rest of the 30% budget on significant server overhaul costs.
AO3 is literally a service you get for free and the audacity you’d have to not bother reading the very open budget plan they have, but to then bitch and whine about people donating to keep the site running is wild.
